When it comes to planning an end-of-year celebration, there’s no better way to make your event exciting than with a theme. Whether you’re hosting a corporate Christmas party, a team get-together, or a private celebration, a well-executed event theme brings energy, personality, and a touch of magic. We love helping clients create spaces that wow, and our Gallery is full of inspiration that can take theming to the next level.
So, what are some fun event theme ideas for the second half of the year here in sunny South East Queensland? Here are six creative themes—and how you can use pieces from our collection to make them shine.
Christmas with a Twist
Who says Christmas has to be all tinsel and baubles? Create an elegant, moody vibe with dramatic styling. Our large red candelabra is the perfect centrepiece for a luxurious Christmas party, dinner or cocktail setting. Pair it with rich velvet lounges, gold cutlery, and dark, glossy décor for an opulent look. Add clusters of candles, black napkins, and touches of greenery for a festive yet sophisticated finish.

Tropical Summer Party
Queensland summer events call for bright colours, fresh flavours, and tropical vibes! Our pineapples make playful table centrepieces or styling accents—think pineapple vases filled with vibrant blooms or sprayed in bold colours like gold or pink for extra impact. Combine with rattan furniture, colourful glassware, and our outdoor lounge settings for a relaxed, island-inspired celebration.

Jungle Glam
Want something a little wild? A jungle or safari theme is perfect for a corporate event that’s fun without feeling cheesy. Imagine long tables dressed in deep green runners, lush foliage, and pops of animal print. Add a playful touch by decorating each table with cheeky monkeys—our monkey table décor pieces bring instant personality and are guaranteed to get guests talking. Pair them with gold accents and statement lighting, such as candles, festoon lights or fairy lights, for an elevated, adventurous look.
Vintage Garden
For a relaxed afternoon celebration, embrace an outdoor garden party theme. Our light poles and bench seats create a charming park-style setting that feels welcoming and nostalgic. Combine with festoon lighting, rustic timber tables, and soft floral arrangements for a look that’s both classic and inviting. This event theme works beautifully for end-of-year picnics or cocktail evenings under the stars.
Tip: Mix in soft cushions, throws, and our parasols from the Hire Shop for extra comfort and style.
Retro Roller Disco
Ready to bring some serious fun to your event? A 70s or 80s retro theme is the ultimate way to end the year on a high. Picture neon lights, bold patterns, and lots of energy. Our fluorescent jukebox, retro roller skates, and pink palms are perfect for creating a vibrant disco event vibe. Add mirrored balls, bright seating, and fun signage to complete the look. Encourage guests to dress the part for a night of nostalgia and dancing!
